Sheinbaum: Mexico Has Clear Direction

President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo said Mexico is “doing better” and has a clear direction determined by the people, as she presented her Second State of the Nation Report at the National Palace.

Sheinbaum said her administration remains committed to the principles of the Fourth Transformation and argued that the results achieved during the first 23 months of this period demonstrate the country’s strength and the continuity of the political project. She also rejected claims of internal divisions or splits.

“We are doing better, and we have a clear direction, because that direction was determined by the people. It is our path and our destiny,” Sheinbaum said during her address.

On the economy, the President reported that Mexico remains stable and continues to grow. She said gross domestic product increased by 1.4 percent, Foreign Direct Investment reached record levels, and the peso remains among the world’s most appreciated currencies.

Sheinbaum also addressed Mexico’s relationship with other countries, stating that her government will continue to pursue cooperation, dialogue and understanding while maintaining the country’s independence and principles.

“As long as I have the honor of serving as President of the Republic, I will defend our sovereignty, our dignity, and our independence with absolute firmness. Mexico is a sovereign nation, and sovereignty is not negotiated, surrendered, or shared,” she emphasized.

The President said honesty and public service remain central principles of her administration and stressed that political and moral authority must be earned through government actions and results.

“We have a historic responsibility to guarantee a path of integrity and to maintain a government that serves the people,” Sheinbaum said, before closing her address with calls celebrating Mexico’s independence and the country.
